Your Role as a Peer Reviewer

As a reviewer for New Insights Press journals, you play a key role in:

  • Evaluating manuscripts for originality, methodological soundness, clarity, relevance and contribution to the field.

  • Providing constructive, timely feedback that helps authors improve their work and helps editors make informed decisions.

  • Flagging any ethical or integrity concerns (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, conflicts of interest).

  • Upholding fairness, confidentiality and professionalism throughout the review process.

  • Contributing to the advancement of your discipline by shaping published research and enabling cross-disciplinary dialogue.

Getting Started

  • Once you accept a review invitation, you will receive access to the manuscript, reviewer guidelines and a recommended timeline.

  • Please consult the Reviewer Guidelines document to ensure your review follows our structure and policy expectations.

  • If you need to decline an invitation, please inform the editorial office promptly so another qualified reviewer can be assigned.

  • Before you begin, check that you have no conflict of interest, the manuscript fits within your expertise, and you can complete the review by the deadline.

Writing Your Review

To support authors and editors effectively, we suggest you structure your review as follows.

  • Summary & Recommendation: Provide a brief overview of the paper’s objectives and your recommendation (e.g., accept, minor revision, major revision, reject).

  • Major Comments: Address key issues such as research design, data validity, conceptual framework, logic of arguments, contribution to literature, etc.

  • Minor Comments: Point out issues of clarity, style, referencing, figures/tables, language, etc.

  • Ethics & Integrity: Provide a brief overview of the paper’s objectives and your recommendation (e.g., accept, minor revision, major revision, reject).

  • Aim to write your review so that it is balanced, respectful, specific, and actionable.
